Back at it: Chapter 2

February is here and it is time to check-in with how things are going. 4:45. :31 swim. 2:25 bike. 1:40 run. Simple math. These goals are achievable if everything falls into place.  What at first started off as daunting task has now become a motivating journey. What made it daunting was knowing what needed to be done to achieve those goals. What makes it a motivating journey is knowing what needs to be done to achieve these goals. Initially I was a bit overwhelmed by the work I had to put in but my mindset quickly shifted.  This was a result in embracing the work,  enjoying the process and letting the results come. I left off the last entry stating that my training focus would be pedaling my bike.  Well, that is what I have done and after my FTP Test this morning the results are encouraging.  There is still work to be done but progress has been made and my hunger is growing. Eagleman 70.3 - Race Report The last few years have been characterized by sporadic success and major setbacks.  Every time I would begin to build momentum and consistency with my training I would inevitably encounter a major roadblock.  One road blood came in the form of a blood disease another came in the form of being struck by a motorist on a training ride.  These setbacks severely handicapped my ability to traverse the path towards figuring out my potential as a multisport athlete.  There is a silver lining attached to the past few years and that has come through reflection. With a frustrating amount of down time I have had ample time to reflect on how I, as a puzzle piece, fit into the larger picture of triathlon.  I have come to realize what this sport means to me, how I want to be a part of it and how I can be successful at it. Leading into Eagleman I had entered 3 races (10k, 1/2 Marathon, Olympic Triathlon) and set a PR for each.  My training...
